Built in 1921, the current lobby is a dark and uninviting space. The furniture and lighting evoke multiple timeframes and aesthetics. This is a result of everything being supplied from various donors, throughout time, not concepted as a complete space. There isn’t enough lighting and the furniture conveys more of a museum attitude, instead of an welcoming and comfortable experience.
Working with the condo’s Board and Beautification Committee I created these conceptual 3D renderings to illustrate the aesthetic goals of renovating and refocusing the riverfront lobby for the building. These renderings were used to create resident interest and cost estimates. These renderings showcase the “premium” direction. A “good”, “Better”, “Best” scenario (based on budget expectations) is still in process.
